Current information and events involving Howe Trinity Parish Church and members

This page is to inform members of the Howe Trinity Parish of things which affect the Church or Parish. It can be the details of a forthcoming meeting or event or maybe a plea for help of some kind.
We have a number of vacancies for important positions in the life of Howe Trinity.
1. Volunteers for the Friday afternoon Session of mainly music
2. Christian Aid Week Convener (to organise the annual door to door collection (12 – 18 May)
3. Church Secretary for one morning a week (this is a paid position)
4. Collectors for Christian Aid Week
5. Distributors to deliver our church newsletter, “Howe Happenings” 3 times a year.
6. Clerk to the Congregational Board
7. Session Clerk
If you are interested in any of these positions, please speak to the minister.
We encourage members and friends to support our congregation financially. (Indeed all members of the congregation made a solemn promise to do so when they joined the church.) It is particularly important that giving is regular, either through a Standing Order from your bank account, or WFO envelopes. Contact your bank for a SO form, or if you use online banking, you can set up a Standing Order directly:
Name of Account: Howe Trinity Parish Church
Sort Code: 83-15-14
Account Number: 00100043
If you set up a Standing Order online, then you must notify Mr Alastair Kinnon, our church treasurer (alastairkinnon@gmail.com) so we can identify your donation on the church's bank statement. If you would like weekly envelopes, please speak to Jennifer Bycroft. All UK taxpayers are encouraged to fill in a Gift Aid form, whether you give by Standing Order, WFO envelopes, or an annual cheque.
Howe Trinity now benefits from "easyfundraising" https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/ Many online retailers subscribe to the scheme and give a small percentage to charities which register with it, including Howe Trinity.
SU Holidays is the branch of Scripture Union which offers holidays in Scotland for young people from P5 - S6. They provide great activity holidays and an opportunity for young people to engage with the Christian faith. There are copies of the 2018 brochure in the church.
As part of the weekly notices, there will be an "sharing time" slot available each week. This can be used for example, by leaders of groups or organisations in the church to publicise forthcoming events, or by church members to draw attention to events or situations in the wider Christian world, or by members or friends of Howe Trinity who would like to share an aspect of their faith with the wider congregation. To book a slot, please contact the minister - there will normally be only one slot available each week.
To find out about booking the hall, meeting room or lounge, please contact the Hall Convener - email - enquiries@howetrinity.org.uk.
Prayer Meetings - Howe Trinity now meets for prayer, in the lounge, on Sunday mornings from 9.30 - 9.50am, and on Tuesday evenings from 6.45 - 7.15pm. Please come and join us. Find out more: Contact the Minister on Alford 62829

The Wednesday Evening Study Group is the new name for the former "House Group". It provides an opportunity to meet other people in a relaxed atmosphere and develop friendships. It is an opportunity for bible study, in which everyone can contribute their thoughts. It is an opportunity for the honest facing of doubts and questions. It is a place for encouragement and mutual support. It is a place where people can come and just be, secure in the knowledge that they are accepted just as they are.
You are welcome to join us every Wednesday Evening (during school term time) at 7.30pm in the Church Hall Lounge.
For more details email:
